LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2015 — Evite, (www.evite.com), the leading digital service for bringing people together, today announced that the company recently sent its 2 billionth event invitation (#Evite2Billion), marking a major milestone in their mission of bringing more people together in meaningful, face-to-face ways. Additionally, having reached this milestone, Evite estimates that by sending out 2 billion invitations, it has enabled approximately 3 billion unique face-to-face interactions in its history.
To celebrate, Evite contacted the party host who sent the 2 billionth invitation to say thank you for turning to Evite for her event, and to make a request: to see if Evite could throw the party for her and surprise her guests. The host consented, and on Friday, June 12, 2015, the in-house party team from Evite arrived at the northern California home of Nanette C. and threw a party valued at over $25,000 for a local class of 100+ fourth-graders and their parents celebrating the end of their school year.
“The Class of 2019 Fourth Annual Splash into Summer Pool Party“ held at the host’s Morgan Hill, Calif. home included an over-the-big-top carnival theme coordinated by Evite, including carnival tents and performers, midway-style games, carnival prizes provided byBirthday Express, a backpack of goodies for each child, catered lunch, popcorn and cotton candy machines, photo booth, DJ-hosted party music and setup provided by Happen Events, delicious cupcakes and ice cream from Sprinkles Cupcakes, a Camp Session fromThe Little Gym, and an extra treat – a special gift basket for the party host, including a gift certificate to Kokkari Restaurant provided by the Internet Marketing Association (IMA). Evite will also give the host one year of free, custom-designed invitations for her upcoming events, personally hand-crafted by the in-house design artists at Evite.
“What better way to mark this incredible milestone than by getting together with the people who are using Evite on a daily basis to strengthen their connections with family and friends,” said Victor Cho, Chief Executive Officer of Evite. “Nothing can replace the bonds created by being together. In a world where an increasing number of social interactions are taking place digitally, Evite is proud to be the leading digital service that brings people together face-to-face.” Cho was on hand to kick off the 2 billionth invitation event and to provide the host with a donation to the charity of her choice, Sacred Heart Community Service, in the spirit of also giving back to the community.
“As an avid Evite user, I was thrilled to find out our annual party invitation was such a milestone for the company, and we were happy to welcome the Evite team to the fun!” said Nanette C., the party host who sent Evite’s 2 billionth invitation. “I never imagined the extent Evite would go to ensure our party would be extra special and memorable. The parents and kids attending our annual event were completely blown away!”
“This has been an unforgettable experience that the families will look back at with sheer delight,” added Nanette. “It’s sure to provide us all with some stand out moments to cherish and appreciate years from now.”
Evite creates approximately 270 million unique face-to-face connections every year among the guests of the 6 million annual events powered by the service. And the company continues to add new tools and functionality to its platform to make parties and get-together’s even more effortless and memorable.
“Now that we have passed the 2 billion invitation milestone, our teams are working hard to ensure we hit the 3 billion mark even faster,” continued Cho. “To do that we have really accelerated the pace by which we are adding or improving features that customers care about the most—such as the ability to manage and track RSVPs, faster uploading of contacts, improved invitation designs, the ability to send ‘open invitations’ via text-links, and much more. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what’s coming this year.”
